Katie is a Certified MBSR teacher with the Mindfulness Training Institute (MTI) and has been teaching mindfulness in workshops and retreats for over 20 years including in schools, the health sector, community and corporate settings. In the last 3 years she has been volunteering
MBSR and mindfulness practices in OCF prison near Milton. She regularly attends silent retreats in the Ignatian tradition and with the Auckland Zen Centre. A high school guidance counsellor for 8 years, Katie now works in private practice integrating mindfulness-based interventions with individuals and groups in her work as an ACC approved sensitive claims counsellor. She originally trained in Hakomi psychotherapy and humanistic approaches and was involved in Mindfulness for Schools with the NZ Mental Health Foundation. As well as her passion for mindfulness, she has a growing interest in nature-based therapies. Katie is a member of NZAC and is also trained as a Spiritual
