Danica Toh

Danica, the founder of Soma Circle, embarked on her mindfulness journey in 2012 through her academic research in the area of sports psychology. This exploration sparked her life's commitment to living with mindfulness, leading her to cultivate her meditation practice and establish her registration as a mindfulness teacher with MTIA in 2018.

Driven by a profound fascination with the intricate connection between the mind and body, Danica pursued academic advancement, obtaining a Master of Counselling from Monash University. Complementing this foundation, she delved into specialized training in integrated somatic trauma work, compassion practice and yoga therapy. This diverse expertise enables her to provide comprehensive support to her clients.

Previously based in Singapore where she introduced the MBSR programme in 2018, Danica has since relocated to Auckland, New Zealand. Here, she focuses on clinical work specializing in Alcohol and Drug addictions while continuing to offer a range of mindfulness-based programs internationally. These include the renowned 8-week MBSR course, the Mindful Self Compassion (MSC) course, and Psychosomatic therapy, all aimed at fostering holistic well-being for her clients.

Registered teachers have taught at least three rounds of the program and have completed basic requirements of the Level I and Level II MTI training pathway, but are not yet certified.

Certified teachers are given certification when they have taught many rounds of the course, attended several silent retreats and their teaching has been rigorously assessed using video/audio submissions.
