Ben Engel

Ben Engel is an experienced mindfulness meditation teacher, practitioner and facilitator with extensive first-hand experience of the benefits that mindfulness practice brings to daily life . He brings a pragmatic and compassionate approach to mindfulness training. His focus is on each participant gaining an experiential understanding of how applied mindfulness practice can lead to a life fully lived, regardless of the individual circumstances an individual may face.

Ben currently teaches the MBSR course to prison inmates, cancer patients and their carers, and runs regular public courses. He has taught mindfulness in workplaces, schools, community groups and is a regular teacher at the Insight Mindfulness Retreats for teenagers. He has a background in Human Resources and has worked in a variety of HR roles with several multinational organisations. Ben is also a PACFA accredited counsellor and psychotherapist.

Registered teachers have taught at least three rounds of the program and have completed basic requirements of the Level I and Level II MTI training pathway, but are not yet certified.

Certified teachers are given certification when they have taught many rounds of the course, attended several silent retreats and their teaching has been rigorously assessed using video/audio submissions.
