Openground Gravel Path With Setting Sun

Michelle Chirgwin

Registered
B. App. Sci. Occupational Therapy, Grad Dip Vocational Education and Training, member of
Meditation Australia and Yoga Australia
Michelle is an Occupational Therapist working in mental health in Broome and surrounding Aboriginal communities. She has facilitated MBSR and MBCT courses since 2016 after training with MTIA and has practiced yoga for over 30 years.
Michelle’s therapy clients and MBSR participants come with a broad range of diagnoses and challenges, including the impacts of trauma. She believes that combining counselling therapy and mindful meditation and movement can empower people to become integrated in mind and body, live with more self-awareness and consequently, with more choice. Michelle invites MBSR participants into a shared, compassionate experiment to discover and experience what mindfulness may offer them personally. She understands the influence of cultural context, and warmly welcomes people of all backgrounds.

Registered teachers have taught at least three rounds of the program and have completed basic requirements of the Level I and Level II MTI training pathway, but are not yet certified.

Certified teachers are given certification when they have taught many rounds of the course, attended several silent retreats and their teaching has been rigorously assessed using video/audio submissions.
