Embodying your Natural Voice
A five week voice training for mindfulness meditation teachers
Tuesdays | live online | 6 - 7:30 pm (AEST) | Starting 9th April
Price: $395 for Alumni / $550 for other Mindfulness teachers
with Rosemary Harris NIDA graduate and MBSR teacher
The course will identify physical and other issues that may impact vocal delivery, such as beliefs we may have about our own vocal sound. We will explore specific body-based exercises aimed at giving a greater understanding of the vocal mechanism, with the opportunity for reflection within a mindfulness-based approach.
Contemporary voice work is based on freeing an individual’s natural voice in a way that is entirely congruent with mindfulness teaching. There is no ‘putting on’ a different voice from the real as that would be inauthentic, and counter-productive to the integrity of the training. Teachers may undertake voice training to improve clarity of communication and ability to connect with groups, increase levels of self-confidence, and more.
The approach throughout allows a space in which challenges and increasing freedom within vocal delivery may be explored in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
